It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Veronica (Ronnie) Miguel on May 18, 2026, at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Ronnie was predeceased by the love of her life Graham Stevenson; her parents, Adriana and Francisco Miguel Sr., Josefina Estavillo (and her late husband Pablo), Avelino Miguel Sr. (and his late wife Fatima).
Growing up in a lively household of 12 siblings, Ronnie leaves a large loving family. Ronnie was born in Laoag City Ilocos Norte, Philippines. In December 1976, she immigrated to Winnipeg, Manitoba where she worked as a nanny to the children of Ivan and Sherrie Berkowitz. A few years later, she relocated to Vancouver British Columbia where she worked as a cleaning lady for Judge Nancy Morisson and at the same time worked in the housekeeping department of Hollyborn House Retirement Residence for 28, years. In October 2012, Ronnie suffered a massive stroke that resulted in speech and mobility challenges.
Following her recovery at Lions Gate Hospital and Evergreen House Long term Care in Vancouver, her devoted siblings brought her back home in Winnipeg in August 2014 where she was cared for at home until her passing.
Ronnie was an incredibly hardworking and independent woman. With her bright jolly personality, she brought joy to the spaces she was in. She will be remembered for her individual kindness, her helpful nature, her generosity to her friends and those she closely mingled with.
